PURPOSE: Provided are a umbrella having a light weight, a protective cover for umbrellas to prevent water from being scattered and a umbrella equipped with the protective cover. CONSTITUTION: The umbrella includes a shaft rod(1) having a ferrule(2) at one end and a handle(3) at the other end, a wheel disposed on the shaft rod, a plurality of umbrella ribs(8), a plurality of umbrella sub-ribs, a umbrella cloth and a protective cover. The wheel slides toward the ferrule when the umbrella is opened and slides toward the handle when the umbrella is closed. Each umbrella rib has one end pivotably connected to the wheel and symmetrically extending on the axis of the shaft rod. Each umbrella sub-ribs has one end pivotably connected to the ferrule side of the shaft rod and extending along the corresponding umbrella rib. The umbrella cloth is expanded to cover the out side of the umbrella ribs. The protective cover protects the umbrella cloth when the umbrella is folded.
