摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To provide a toner which excels in the transcribing performance and can produce a uniform coating on a carrier, by preparing the toner so that a specific azo ferro-complex compound is dispersed internally in a binder resin, and forming the toner in a specific shape. CONSTITUTION: Toner particles are prepared in such a way that azo ferro- complex compound as expressed by the formula beside is dispersed internally in a binder resin, in which also a pigment is dispersed, and also inorganic fine powder is provided, wherein the shape factors S-1 and SF-2 of the toner are conditioned as 110<SF-1<=180 and 110<SF-2<=140, and the ratio of the value B obtained by subtracting 100 from SF-2 to the value A obtained by subtracting 100 from SF-1 should lie below 1.0. Further the conditions 3.0<Sb/St<7.0 and Sb>=St+1.5+1.5 should be met, where Sb and St are the specific surface area in m<2> /cm<3> per unit volume of toner, the former being the measurement acquired by BET method and the latter being the calculation obtained upon assumption that it is a genuine sphere. In the formula, X1 and X2 are hydrogen atom, lower alkyl radical, etc., R1 and R3 are hydrogen atom, alkyl radical, etc., R2 and R4 are hydrogen atom, nitro radical, m, m', n, n' are integer 1 to 3, and A<+> is cation ion.</p>
