PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce density irregularities caused by a difference in the discharge time between a black ink and a color ink generated due to printing through scanning in both directions by a printing head, especially at both end parts within a scanning range, without lowering the printing speed to a not so much significant extent and thus realize high-quality printing, in a printing device. SOLUTION: The coverage area of one band is divided into a plurality of areas in the main scan direction and the number of dots of the black ink and the color ink allotted to each of the areas is counted (S705). When there are the areas which exceed a threshold value with regard to the black ink and the color ink (S706), the number of such areas is counted (S707). Then when the counted number is beyond the specified count (S708), the printing operation is switched from the both side printing mode to the one side printing mode, considering that the possibilities of generating the density irregularities are high (S709).
