PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device controlling a fore and aft vibration damping of a carrier, which prevents a 'fall forward' phenomenon caused by the fore and aft swing of the carrier, by reducing the damping force of a damper only while the carrier passes on a column, and realizes an improvement of a ride comfort. SOLUTION: The device is characterized in that it is composed of a vibration damping means 2 for absorbing the fore and aft vibration of the carrier 5 and a control means 1 for controlling the vibration absorption function of the vibration damping means 2 into an adequately weakened state only while the carrier passes on the column.
