PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating apparatus for an exterior plate for building by which a water proofagent is excellently applied on the back surface of a base plate of an external plate, even if there is warp or up-and-down vibration in the transportation, by bringing a coating roll into sure contact with the base plate over the whole back surface area. SOLUTION: In the coating apparatus for the external plate for building, which is provided with a transporting line for transporting downward the base plate 1 of the external plate mainly composing of cement to face the back surface 3 and a coating roll 10 for applying the waterproof agent 6 to the bask surface 3 of the base plate 1 transported along the transporting line, a finishing roll 8 for leveling the waterproof agent 6 applied to the back surface 3 of the base plate 1 is provided in the transporting line and a soft coating roll 7 softer than the finishing roll 8 is provided in the upper side than the finishing roll 8 in the transporting direction of the transporting line.
