PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the control accuracy of contact load to a screen of a squeegee in a screen printing machine. SOLUTION: A load cell 170 is attached to the attaching plate 172 of the squeegee 112. The load cell 170 is constituted so that a detector 178 comes into contact with the squeegee 12 in such a state that at least the squeegee 112 comes into contact with the screen 80 to receive the force from the squeegee 112. Since the detection value of the load cell 170 corresponds to the contact load of the squeegee 112 with the screen 18, the position of the attaching plate 172 in an up and down direction is controlled on the basis of the detection value to make it possible to control the contact load of the squeegee 112. A strain gauge is attached to the squeegee 112 itself and contact load can be also controlled on the basis of the detection value thereof.
