A cutting tool and holder of the box turning tool type comprises a body member 10, a rearwardly expending hollow shank 12, a central base 16 with a pair of forwardly extending spaced bosses 18, 20. The bosses provide the support and guiding, through bores 30, 32, of an axially adjustable cylindrical slide 28. The slide carries a cutter element 56 which is adjustable transversely to the slide axis. Workpiece supporting rollers 80, 82 are located on blocks 88, 90 which are adjustably secured to a mounting head 100. The roller adjustment is effected transversely to the workpiece axis by elongated holes 92, 94 in the blocks and grooves 114, 116 in the mounting head. Adjustment of the mounting head and subsequently the rollers, parallel to the work axis may also be effected to position the rollers in re- . lation to the cutter edge, by, means of a clamping screw, 108 clamping a shank, portion 102 of the mounting head 100. |
