969,792. Moulding meat patties. F. A. DE ZOLT. Nov. 1, 1961 [Dec. 20, 1960], No. 39075/61. Heading B5A. [Also in Division B8] In a meat patty forming machine ground meat from a hopper 19 is introduced into moulds 24, radially carried by a rotatable wheel 22, by a screw conveyer 16 having a recirculating duct 48 to control the density of the meat. The moulds have adjustable bottoms 25 connected by pusher rods 26 to rollers 30 which are urged by springs 33 against a fixed cam 31, the cam portion 44 being radially adjustable to adjust the thickness of the patties. After filling the wheel is rotated to shape the meat against shoe 38, the patty thus formed then being raised by cam portion 31 so that a paper wafer 63 from a carrier 65 may be deposited thereon. The patties are then removed by a scraper 40 on to an intermittently moving belt 60 to form stacks, the upper patty of each stack having a wafer deposited thereon by a carrier 73.
