PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for treating dust capable of safely treating the dust which is generated by heat treatment for polluted soil with treatment soil together without causing rise in concentration of contamination. SOLUTION: In the method for treating dust which is generated at clarification of the soil polluted by harmful chemical substances by the heat treatment, the dust which is generated by the heat treatment is captured and collected from exhaust gas, the collected dust 11 is granulated 3 and 4, and the heat treatment is applied thereto, or the dust which is generated by the heat treatment is captured and collected from the exhaust gas, a part of the collected dust 11 or the total amount thereof in the predetermined time is mixed with the soil as for moisture regulating of the treating soil, and the reminder is granulated and the heat treatment is applied thereto.
