PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for occupant protection which can sufficiently protect the occupant by a combination of an air bag which is inflated in the front of an upper half of the occupant's body and a knee bag which is inflated in the front of the occupant's legs. SOLUTION: Gas is blown out from an inflater 18 and the knee bag 14 is inflated when an automobile collides. A lid 20 is opened by being pushed by the inflating knee bag 14 and the knee bag 14 is developed at the front face of a case 12 and along a surrounding interior panel 10. The airbag for a front passenger seat 30 is inflated in the front of the upper half of the occupant's body by gas from the inflater 14 actuated for a gas blowout and catches the upper half of the occupant's body. When both the knee bag 14 and the airbag 30 are fully inflated, the upper end part 14t of the knee bag 14 is located above the lower end part 30b of the airbag 30 by 50 mm or more. |
