Production of bottle with rigid outer casing and flexible lining, comprises coextrusion blow molding two coaxial tubes, material at base being compressed when mold is closed to form seam with pressure balancing slit at its center. Production of a bottle with a rigid outer casing (2) and a flexible lining (3) made from different polymers comprises coextrusion blow molding two coaxial tubes. When the mold is closed the material at the base is compressed to form a seam (5) with a section of the lining at its center. The preform is kept at 40 - 70[deg]C during molding and the section of the lining enclosed in the seam is split to form a pressure balancing slit (10). A radial force is then applied, so that the preform is molded to the correct shape. An independent claim is included for a bottle produced by the process.
