PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drain detector which can be easily mounted on the various oil tanks and can issue a warning by accurately detecting drain water. SOLUTION: This drain detector is equipped with a dielectric constant-type water level sensor 8, which is arranged in a bottom part of the oil tank 1, and a display unit 10 which is connected electrically to the sensor 8 by a conductor 9 and arranged outside the oil tank 1. The drain detector detects a difference between a dielectric constant of oil and that of water, so as to detect the presence or absence of the drain water in prescribed quantity or more.
