The device for automatic insertion of a coffin into a cremator and the removal of ashes involves a roller track (1) floor which when located above the ash pan (11) allows ash residues (10) to fall directly into the ash pan. The conveyor is supported by rollers (3) provided with insulation and the ashes are cooled by air or water. The coolant can be fed via a heat exchanger located in the combustion air feed to the cremator, which preheat combustion air. The drive (6) of the track is by an electric motor which can rotate clockwise or anti-clockwise, activating the roller track by a chain (7) and a gearwheel (8). The rollers are made of heat-resistant silicium carbide and the roller track is made of metal alloys, such as aluminum chrome steel with addition of hafnium and yttrium, or of woven ceramic fibers comprising aluminum oxide and quartz.
