PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a message valid only in a local area in which a network device (called as a device hereafter) is used, according to an operating state of the device. SOLUTION: A network management program 1052 to be executed on a managing device 150 requests the operating state to a device 102 by using a SNMP (simple network management protocol) and the device 102 reports information regarding the operating state in response to it. When an error code is reported to the network management program 1052 as the information regarding the operating state, a local message corresponding to the error code is extracted from a message definition file, an HTML file for browsing is created and transferred to a WWW sever program 1051. The WWW server program 1051 transmits the HTML file for browing to a WWW browser program 1031 by an HTTP. |
