PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera for recording desired image data on a record medium even if the free capacity of the record medium is small. SOLUTION: In the digital camera 100, the image of a subject through a photographing lens 11a is formed on a CCD sensor 21, is stored in a memory 26 as image data via an A/D section 22 and an image-processing section 25, and data compression is performed by a compression/expansion section 27 for recording on a record medium 28. In the digital camera 100, compression data being recorded on the record medium 28 are read by receiving an instruction by a compression rate conversion key 29, and data compression processing with a higher compression rate than the compression data being recorded on the record medium 28 is made, and the data are recorded on the record medium 28 instead of compression data being read from the record medium 28. |
