PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foldable portable telephone set that prevents shock from acting to a hinge to the utmost, when the cases in a folded state are dropped or the like and the shock is acts on an upper or lower case so as to enhance the reliability of the hinge and that prevents a panel face of a display section from being damaged, due to the contact with an operation section. SOLUTION: A projection 5 to prevent an upper casing 1 from being shaken vertically is provided, when the upper and lower casings are folded, is placed to a tip side face of the lower casing 2 opposite to a base end face to which the hinge 3 is located. Furthermore, a projection 6 to prevent the upper casing 1 from being horizontally shaken is placed to both the left and right end faces of the lower casing 2, when the upper and lower casings are folded.
