PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip component which hardly rollers off, can take a correct attitude about its top and bottom and is preferably applicable to directional electronic components. SOLUTION: Insulation films 20 and conductor patterns 21 are alternately laminated in an adequate order to form a chip body 2 containing a coil 3 to which the conductor patterns are spirally connected. Outer electrodes 4, 4 are provided on two opposite planes along the axis of the contained coil to obtain a laminated inductor 1. Approximately tapered recesses 5 tapered down to the end faces are formed into both edges adjacent to outer electrode planes on the upside and bottom side of the chip body, and the outer electrodes 4, 4 are formed by dipping a conducive film which covers part of adjacent four planes (including the recesses) to fill up the recesses without leaving a gap, thereby obtaining a flat surface. Since the bottom side is flat enough to make the body hardly rolling, the upside is made flat to reduce the chucking error at mounting.
