PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pixel number converting device with which numbers of pixels in two multiplexed color difference signals are converted and such signals can be demultiplexed. SOLUTION: A pixel number converting part 53 converts a number of pixels in a signals R/B with which signals R-Y and B-Y are multiplexed to be A-fold. A counter 545 counts a clock CLK and a multiplier 546 makes a count value 1/A-fold. A select signal generating part 547 outputs a least-significant bit in the output of the multiplier 546 as a select signal SEL. Each of demultiplexers 541-544 performs demultiplexing corresponding to the select signal SEL and recovers the signals R-Y and B-Y.
