<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CAD system capable of generating a more convenient model by more efficiently performing the shape management of each desired model. SOLUTION: A shape information managing device 11 for performing processing that inputs, outputs and generates shape data representing the shape of a product in each different usage or the like performs various processing on the basis of input data from an input device 17 and outputs obtained shape data to an output device 18. In such a case, the device 11 appropriately refers to information by shapes files 12 to 16 which respectively represent a product model being the basic shape of the product and another shape model such as an analytic model derived from the product model. The files 12 to 16 store a plurality of preparation instructions for representing respective shapes without redundancy. In representing the shape of the shape model derived from the product model, the device 11 refers to an information by shapes file representing the product model being the basic shape together with an information by shapes file representing the model.</p> |
