The wheel rim has first (13') and second (13") outwardly-inclined seating surfaces, a disc (2), and a transverse inner surface (11) between the two seating surfaces. Each seating surface has a tyre-retaining projection (15') along its outer edge. The inner surface (11) has a series of projections (31) and recesses (30) and an inner positioning collar (16). The projections (31) can be in the shape of circumferential and transverse or quasi-transverse ribs which form hollows (30) of various volumes. The rim is preferably made from low density materials, such as aluminium, magnesium and their alloys, or from thermoplastic or thermo-setting materials, with or without fillers. |
