Describes a method comprising low residue cosmetic compositions (especially underarm products) which are made by combining an active ingredient; a silicone gel material itself comprising an elastomer composition; and at least one selected surfactant having an HLB value in the range of 8-16. The compositions of this method exhibit reduced or eliminated film formation when applied to the skin and increased availability of the active ingredient.
