<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communications equipment that can realize a function of identifying a sender terminal of received data whose error is detected in an ATM layer, through a small modification of the device configuration by having only to attach a simple circuit to the conventional communications equipment. SOLUTION: In the communications equipment connected to an ATM network and executing communication for the IPOA(IP over ATM), when the ATM layer detects a fault in received data, the received data are converted into an AAL 5(ATM adaptation layer type 5) frame, an LLC(logical link control) header and a SNAP(sub network access point) in an RFC 1483 header of the converted AAL 5 frame are referred to, when the value of top 3 bytes of the LLC header is 'AA', 'AA', '03' in this order and the value of top 2 bytes of the PID(protocol identifier) part of the SNAP header is '08', '00' in this order, a sender IP address is detected from an IP header in an IP datagram in the AAL 5, to identify the sender terminal of the received data.</p> |
