PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-phase modulation control type inverter which can realize the reduction of a power loss and heat of a smoothing capacitor, the size reduction of the smoothing capacitor, the reduction of a cooling load, and the improvement of an efficiency, by reducing harmonic voltages generated on a DC end side of a three-phase inverter circuit while the complication of a circuit structure is suppressed. SOLUTION: In an inverter practicing the two-phase modulation type PWM control, a phase of a central time point of a period of turning on/off a switching device of one phase among two phases subjected to the PWM control and a phase of a central time point of a period of turning on/off a switching device of the other phase among the two phases are shifted by approximately π, wherein a PWM carrier period is 2π. With such a constitution, a high frequency switching power can be substantially reduced. |
