PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a switching element able to be used within the breakdown strength of the element without raising the rank of the breakdown strength of the element in the driving circuit of a plasma display device. SOLUTION: This plasma display device has a panel in which a pair of substrates in which at least the substrate of the front side is transparent are disposed oppositely so that a discharge space is formed between the substrates and also on whose surfaces electrode groups are arranged, and a driving circuit for performing display by applying a signal to the panel, and the driving circuit is constituted so as to let capacitive electric charges of the positive pole side of a MOS(metal semiconductor) transistor 25 loose to the negative pole side in the OFF period of the MOS transistor 25 constituting the driving circuit.
