PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plane discharge type alternating current plasma display panel enabled to stabilize address discharging property at every discharging cells, and enabled to improve light emission efficiency. SOLUTION: Transparent electrodes Xa and Ya of a row electrode X and a row electrode Y composing a pair of row electrodes (X, Y) are made to face each other interposing a concave part 11a. Respective discharging cells are divided by partitioning the periphery of the discharging cells by separation walls 15. The discharging cell is divided into a display discharge cell C1, making a maintenance discharge generate between itself and the transparent electrodes Xa, Ya of paired row electrodes X, Y, which are facing the display charging cell, and an address discharge cell C2, facing a bus electrode Yb of a row electrode Y, making an address discharge generate between the bus electrode Yb and a line electrode D, by a second lateral wall 15B. A gap r, making the address discharge cell C2 communicate with the display discharge cell C1, is formed between the display discharge cell C1 and the address discharge cell C2.
