PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make EV traveling possible when commuting from one's home early morning or when coming home late at night, by designating areas expanding around bases as EV traveling possible areas. SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle, in which the EV traveling and HEV traveling can be changed over, is provided with an external charging device (23) that charges a battery (3) by an external power supply; a map data device (17) capable of recognizing the present position of the vehicle on its map data; bases-registering means (16, 18) that register points where the external power supplies are set up as the bases on the map data that the map data device (17) has; EV traveling areas registering means (16, 18) that register the areas expanding around the bases where the EV traveling is possible on the map data that the map data device (17) has; and an outward route EV traveling means (16) that performs the EV traveling in the EV traveling possible areas when going out of a base with the battery charged by the external charging device using the external power supply. |
