PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proof image generating device that matches a dot shape of a proof image and a dot shape of a dot image obtained by using an output device so as to verify the dot image with high accuracy. SOLUTION: An image setter selection section 40 selects an image setter, dot threshold value data corresponding to the image setter are read from an image setter corrected dot threshold value data storage section 42 on the basis of the selection information and set to a thresholding section 50, an output adjustment data storage section 60 reads output adjustment data corresponding to the image setter, and an output adjustment section 62 adjusts a scanning optical system 68. Then multi-gradation image data are converted into dot image data by using the dot threshold value data, an LD 66 is driven and the scanning optical system 68 adjusts a beam diameter depending on a dot gain of a printed matter to form a proof image to a recording medium 70. |
