PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely protect an electronic linkage between a motor and a controller, even under unfavorable environmental conditions. SOLUTION: A modular motor and controller assembly 18 for the rear-wheel steering of an vehicle includes a motor unit 26, and a controller unit 32 which is mechanically linked with the motor unit directly so as to form a unitary package. The motor unit 26 includes a motor and a motor port 50, and the motor port 50 is constituted so as to provide a communicational interface between the motor and the controller unit 32. The controller portion 32 may include a controller port 52 which is constituted so as to be coupled with the motor port. An electronic communication can be maintained via the controller port 52 and the motor port 50 via a connector 48, on which prongs 54 are formed. |
