PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery terminal 10 capable of connecting by operation from above without needing fastening work of bolts, or the like. SOLUTION: In a battery terminal 10 comprising a terminal fitting 12 and a cover 13, a cam pin 17 installed in a leg piece 15 of the terminal fitting 12 moves along the inside of a cam trench 18 installed on the cover 13 side applies a tensile force C to the leg piece 15 in the closing motion of the cover 13, and by this force, the inner circumferential surface of a post housing part 14 of the terminal fitting 12 is bit in the outer circumferential surface of a battery post 11 to establish the connection of the battery terminal 10.
