PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for starting a device, capable of accurately starting a plurality of devices in a batch, and easily grasping the situation of any abnormally started device. SOLUTION: A personal computer 1 is connected through a network 2 to devices 1-N such as a printer, a copy machine, or facsimile equipment. When the personal computer 1 is started, a start signal is transmitted to each device, and when at least one device is not normally started, the situation of the abnormally started device is displayed on the display screen of a host computer so that those devices can be accurately started in batch, and that the situation of any abnormally started device can be easily grasped. |
