PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving unit of a semiconductor light emitting element capable of preventing break of the emitting element and preventing injury to a person by the emitted light of the emitting element, and to provide an optical ratio communication equipment having the same. SOLUTION: The driving unit of the semiconductor light emitting element comprises a limiter circuit LI provided between an input signal generator VI and a base of a transistor TR1. In this case, an input signal generated from the generator VI is imparted to the base of the transistor TR1 to control a light emitting amount of a semiconductor laser LD by the transistor TR1. Then, a signal voltage to be applied to the base of the transistor TR1 is limited by the circuit LI. Thus, the laser LD can prevent an excess current from flowing therethrough. |
