PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that can attain stable automatic density adjustment at all times independently of the size of an original in a positioning system where an original position reference is set at a corner of an original platen. SOLUTION: The image forming device is provided with the original platen 1 where its corner is selected for an original placing reference position, size detection means 21 to 26 that detect the size of original, a scanner system 16 that captures an image, and an image processing unit 2 that applies image processing to the read image. The image processing unit 2 collects original density data for automatic exposure from the image data read by the scanner system 16, selects the data collection range to be a prescribed range in the main scanning direction, and selects the data collection position to be a particular position of the original depending on the detected size of the original. |
