PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart a disk device which is utilizable as an external memory of a computer system have low cost and sufficient storage capacity, compactness characteristic which is advantageous for an IC memory card, light weight, low power consumption, and mechanical impact resistance. SOLUTION: This device is provided with one sheet of disk for storing information and having a diameter of 1.89 inch or less, a disk drive section rotating the disk, a head mechanism section performing write and read of information for the disk, and an electronic circuit comprising at least an interface circuit, inside of housing, a connector connected to the electronic circuit is provided at the out side of the housing, and the device is constituted, so that outside dimensions of a plane comprising the housing and the connector is approximately 85.6 mm×54 mm, thickness dimension is 8 mm or less.
