PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric vibrator that can easily reduce a capacitance ratioγeven when the area of electrodes has a limit. SOLUTION: A crystal substrate 2 is formed to be a nearly crossed crystal substrate of a structure resulting from notching four corners of a rectangular crystal substrate in vertical and horizontal symmetry and the width of a longitudinal part of the cross of the crystal substrate 2 (x directional size) is selected to be equal to the size of the electrode 3 in the x direction.
