PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically rightly set an input channel or EDID data corresponding to the specification of an input signal in a display monitor having a DDC function equipped with a DVI-I connector. SOLUTION: When a DDC transmitting request is received from an external computer through a DDC control means 55, a discriminating means 53 judges whether an input video signal from the computer is an analog specification or digital specification, depending on an analog channel input detecting signal from an analog synchronizing signal detecting means 52. On the basis of this judgement, the DDC control means 55, a channel switching means 56 and an OSD switching means are controlled and the EDID data, input channel and OSD are respectively switched corresponding to the specification of the input video signal.
