PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a free electron laser resonator having a laser performance measuring unit capable of efficiently aligning a resonator system and the measuring unit of a free electron laser generator and utilizing without re-regulating even when laser oscillating conditions are changed. SOLUTION: The free electron laser resonator comprises a reflecting mirror 6 in protrudable and retractable manner provided from and in an optical axis of a first resonator mirror 4 and a second resonator mirror 5 to reflect a visible ray laser, a distributing mirror 8 provided directly at a downstream of a coupling hole of the second mirror to distribute the free electron laser beam, and a spectroscope 9 provided at a distance on the optical axis of the visible ray laser reflected by the distribution mirror and capable of spectrally measuring a diameter of the free electron laser spread by Rayleigh scattering at a position of a lighting window. The spectroscope 9 is preferred so that an optical path length from an outlet of the second mirror 5 becomes double or less as long as the length of the resonator.
