PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large capacity narrow band communication system which can transmit a relatively large volume of data in a short time. SOLUTION: The ASK transmission path of the ASK/QPSK transmission paths 12 and 51 of a base unit 1 and a terminal unit 5 is used for setting a communication path, or the like, and the QPSK transmission path of the ASK/ QPSK transmission paths 12 and 51 or the millimetric wave transmission paths 13 and 52 of the base unit 1 and the terminal unit 5 is used for transmitting information of intermediate or large volume depending on the functional sharing, the attributes of information and the capacity in communication processing, i.e., information from Internet Web or information of the advertisement or guide of a gas station or map, music, image or dynamic image information, from the base unit 1 to the terminal unit 5.
