PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device keeping a state where a conducting member is broken and preventing the recovery of a conductive state after the conductive state is interrupted by the displacement of a pressure sensitive member, and to provide a battery equipped with the safety device. SOLUTION: This safety device is equipped with a first lead 3 connected to one electrode 11a of a power generating element 11 inside the battery, a second lead 4 connected to a positive terminal 12 or a negative terminal 13 which is an external connecting electrode of the battery, a conductive member 5 connected to the first and second leads 3, 4 to make the first lead 3 and the second lead 4 to be electrically conductive, a pressure sensitive member 8 which makes displacement accompanying an increase in the inner pressure of the power generating member 11, and a breaking means 8b works in response to the displacement of the pressure sensitive member 8, and breaks the conductive member 5 when the inner pressure of the power generating element 11 reaches a prescribed value to interrupt the continuity state between the first and second leads 3, 4, and a spring member 6 spreading a broken part 5d of the conductive member 5 broken by the breaking means 8b is installed.
