PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that steel plates delivered to a steel plate storage yard are piled up so as to be sorted in a matrix shape by delivery dates and steel plate grades, and that labors and time and sorting places are more widely required for the piling-up work and the places necessary for this work according as the steel plate grades are largely scaled, and that large labors and costs are required for painting processing due to the increase of any non-operating time accompanied with the washing and residual paint processing of the painting device and the stop of the steel plate surface processor each time the steel plates are painted in each color for each steel plate grade by the steel plate surface processing. SOLUTION: Steel plates ST carried by a track T or a ship S are piled up so as to be sorted like (a), b, c, and d for each delivery date one by one. In this case, the steel plate data added with the plate numbers, that is, 'identification information' of each of the carried steel plates ST and the information of the plate dimension data (plate length, plate width, plate thickness), the plate grade, the delivery date, the order number, the surface processing code such as the ship class, and the delivery date are stored in a computer 6 as a data base 7. Then, the steel plates ST are inputted to a carrying device 1 one by one for each delivery date, and successively processed by a blast device 2, painting device 3, and rear carrying device 4 so that the carrying processing can be executed, and the steel plates ST are transferred from the rear carrying device 4 to a place 5 for the steel plates.
