POWER CABLE COOLING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power cable cooling apparatus which does not need large scale cooling equipment and can be applied to the partial cooling of a power cable easily. SOLUTION: Peltier units 2 having Peltier devices are provided in a cable housing chamber 1 as cooling sources for cooling the inside of the cable housing chamber 1, in which power cables 4 are housed and powers supplied to the Peltier devices are controlled so as to keep prescribed power transmission capacities of the power cables 4. With such a constitution, large scale cooling equipment is not necessary and only the parts of the power cables which are to be cooled can be cooled easily.
