PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized digital still camera with excellent portability and operability that a user can use at a free monitor section angle by simply opening a monitor section when in use. SOLUTION: The digital still camera 1 is provided with a camera main body section 2 except an outer package cover, the outer package cover 3 that protects an imaging lens and a finder lens when it is closed, and a display section that displays an object image and a reproduced image read from a storage means, and comprises a monitor section 4 that is pivotally supported by a bearing mechanism in a freely opening and closing way around one side of the display section as a fulcrum, an imaging lens 5 that collects lights from the object image, a finder lens 6 that views an object, and a strobe 7 that emits a light to the object when the camera photographs the object. Figure shows a state of the digital still camera that the outer package cover 3 is closed and the monitor section 4 is contained. In this state, the upper face of the outer package cover 3 is nearly in plane with the upper face of the monitor section and they are in contact with each other nearly on the same line. |
