PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device optimally displaying information such as a character string and a route at displaying a map as a bird's-eye view. SOLUTION: A map display device is constituted of a means calculating a present position on the basis of information from a sensor, a means processing perspective transformation computation for displaying the map as the bird's-eye view, a means arranging a position to display a present location or the present location and a destination at an optimum position, a means performing control so as to eliminate the overlap of the character strings, a means controlling the same character string, a means optimally displaying backgrounds, lines and planes, a means controlling marks to be displayed and a means performing graphic plotting by using obtained map data. |
