PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the buffer size to a minimum, without increasing the data quantity to be temporarily stored in a receiver. SOLUTION: A data block former 110 divides transmission data into blocks of data in transmission units. A CRC generator 120 generates a CRC code which is an error detection code for each data block. A transmitter 130 multiplexes the CRC codes with the data blocks and transmits them. RAM 140 temporarily stores the data blocks and the CRC codes. A control signal receiver 150 receives control signals transmitted from a receiver 200 for indicating next required data blocks. If the control signal, received by the control signal receiver 150, is one for requesting next data, a controller 160 instructs the transmitter 130 to send the next data block. If the control signal is one for requesting the retransmission, it instructs the transmitter 130 to retransmit the data block and the CRC code stored in the RAM 140.
