PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid corrosion deterioration in a highly corrosive environment, such as coastal or industrial zones, by enhancing corrosion resistance of overhead electric wires for power transmission and overhead electric wires, such as optical fiber complex overhead ground wires. SOLUTION: A coating layer 2, made of high-purity aluminum with residual resistance ratio of 1,000 or more, is coated uniformly on a core wire 1 consisting of hard aluminum, a conductive aluminum alloy wire or the like, to constitute an overhead electric wire 3 of high corrosion resistance. Furthermore, a plurality of these overhead electric wires 3 as conductive element wires 6 are stranded over a steel twisted wire 5 to make up a steel-core aluminum twisted wire.
