PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a merchandise paying device of an automatic vending machine by which a paying operation is satisfactorily performed even without manually adjusting passage width of a storage carrier path. SOLUTION: The merchandise paying device is provided with a lower stopper 4 to be freely rotatable upward from the inside of a paying out 2 to face a bottom part of the storage carrier path 1 to the inside of the merchandise carrier path 1, to receive and support merchandise 3 at the bottom of the storage carrier path 1 and an upper stopper 6 to increase projection quantity as pressurizing the merchandise 3 at the bottom by being abutted on its upper part in the case of projection and as following drop transfer of the merchandise 3 at the bottom when lock of the lower stopper 4 is released, to receive the merchandise 3 at the second from the bottom and to prevent drop and start lock release of the lower stopper 4 fixed time later from start of activation of the upper stopper 6. Thus, change of a setting position by a passage width regulating means is dispensed with and comparatively simple structure and arrangement, etc., are used as its structure and arrangement.
