PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a VoIP telephone system that can transmit line ramp status information to a phone terminal compatible with multi-line by reducing the communication load on a LAN, without adversely affecting a telephone terminal which is not compatible with the multiline. SOLUTION: In the case of a registration request from a telephone terminal, when the telephone terminal making a registration request is discriminated to be compatible with a multiline, a gatekeeper sets up an extension message connection to the telephone terminal making the registration request. The gatekeeper transmits the line ramp status information to the respective telephone terminals through the extension message connection.
