PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make user names on a server side and a terminal side consistent with each other when the terminal receives services provided by the server by using a plurality of user names. SOLUTION: When a character which is currently used is changed (304) as instructed by a user on the terminal which receives the services provided by the server by using one of user names stored on the server, user by user, and a character related to the user name, the user name related to the character after the change is compared with the user name which is currently used. When compared user names are different, the terminal changes the user name on the terminal side into the user name related to the character after the change and sends information showing the user name related to the character after the change to the server 115 (305).
