PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assign a new channel without interrupting conversation. SOLUTION: In ST601, a data transmission/reception terminal 140 requests the connection of non-voice data communication to a control station 100. In ST602, the station 100 checks whether or not any channel for use of non-voice communication is available. In ST603, the station 100 calls a mobile station 300 through a base station 200 to perform channel assignment. In ST604, the station 300 transmits a response signal to the station 100 by multiplexing data to be communicated in a USC1 or by interruption. In ST605, the station 100 transmits the information to be notified to the station 300 by multiplexing the data to be communicated in the USC1 or by interruption. In ST606, the station 100 notifies the terminal 140 of the establishment of connection. In ST607, the terminal 140 makes a non-voice communication with the station 300 by using USC2.
