PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless terminal the reception performance of which is not deteriorated even when being connected to an adaptive array base station and to provide its reception operation control program. SOLUTION: A base station transmits, by a downlink signal, information to identify whether the base station is an adaptive array base station. When a terminal for diversity reception discriminates that the base station to make connection is the adaptive array base station, the terminal stops diversity reception and selects an antenna used for transmission of an uplink signal among a plurality of antennas 11, 12 to be a reception antenna just after the transmission. Thus, the terminal can receive the downlink signal from the adaptive array base station by effectively utilizing the transmission directivity so as to reduce interference waves. A digital signal processor DSP 18 executes the above processing by means of software.
