The invention concerns a method for processing a telephone call from a mobile subscriber to a stationary or mobile called telephone number, portable to a stationary or mobile telephone network, each managed by an operator belonging to a portability group. The method consists in discriminating a) in a switch receiving the call, affiliation of the called telephone number to a group of portable numbers; on receiving a positive answer, applying b) to said call the processing corresponding to a call to a portable mobile number in accordance with a MNP-SRF procedure, verifying c) in said procedure, the affiliation of the called number to the network owning the portability server, upon verification of said affiliation, d) transferring the interrogation request to a HLR database, and in case of non verification, e) verifying the transported or non transported character of the called number, and upon verification of non transport, f) transmitting the called number to a query switch, and g) upon verification of portability, translating the called number into a routing telephone number, then h) transmitting the latter to the query switch. The invention is applicable to stationary, mobile or service portability.
